Situated in Tamworth, NSW, the Oakburn Poultry Processing Plant includes a substantial 45,000m² Gross Floor Area for live bird storage, processing, chilling, cold storage, and distribution facilities, along with a 1,600m² maintenance workshop and store building. The plant will have the capacity to process up to three million chickens per week.
This advanced poultry processing facility is set up for two production lines of 15,000 birds per hour. It will serve as Baiada’s reference plant, designed to meet future market needs and technological developments. The new processing plant will set a new benchmark for both the global and, more importantly, the Australian poultry industry.
The Oakburn facility is not just a processing plant—it’s a symbol of progress, sustainability, and Baiada’s commitment to providing quality poultry for decades to come. From the outside, the building is very impressive, featuring a ‘sunken’ car park and hypermodern architecture. Inside, it has a transparent layout with walkways offering viewing areas of the factory floor.
