About Us

1980
From humble beginnings, Frank Pirreca established a small electrical contracting business as a sole trader. Through a commitment to quality workmanship, reliability and client service, the business steadily grew, leading to the formation of FIP Electrical Pty Ltd. The company initially specialised in domestic electrical installations, automation and control systems, and general electrical maintenance before expanding into larger retail, commercial and industrial projects.

1990
As demand for our services increased, FIP Electrical expanded its operations with the opening of offices in Alexandria, NSW. This period saw the company successfully deliver major shopping centre developments, railway infrastructure upgrades and industrial installations. Our growing client base included some of Australia’s leading organisations, including Westfield, Mirvac, John Holland, Transfield and Lendlease.

2000
Following the successful delivery of major transport infrastructure projects, including Australia’s then largest underground railway development, the Airport Link Project, FIP Electrical experienced significant growth. To support our expanding workforce and project portfolio, a purpose-built Head Office and warehouse facility was established in Mortlake, NSW, creating a strong foundation for future growth.

2005
With the continued support of our blue-chip clients and increasing opportunities interstate, FIP Electrical expanded into Queensland with the opening of an office and warehouse in Kingston. By replicating the successful NSW business model, the company quickly established a strong reputation throughout Queensland and secured a permanent presence in the state.

2010
The award of significant projects including Maroochydore State High School and Sunshine Coast University Hospital strengthened our footprint in Queensland and led to the opening of our Sunshine Coast office. During this period, FIP Electrical invested heavily in technology and innovation, developing a highly skilled in-house design team and becoming an early industry leader in the adoption of BIM and Revit modelling technologies.

2015
Continued growth throughout New South Wales and Queensland resulted in the expansion of operations into Victoria. FIP Electrical also significantly strengthened its Service Division through the award of major maintenance contracts, including the Sydney Trains routine maintenance program covering railway stations, stabling yards and associated infrastructure throughout New South Wales.

2020
By 2020, FIP Electrical had firmly established itself as one of Australia’s leading electrical contractors, delivering projects across the health, education, transport, aviation, commercial, infrastructure and hospitality sectors. This period included the successful delivery of major hospital and university developments, significant casino and hospitality projects throughout Tasmania, airport infrastructure works including Brisbane Airport, metro rail projects, tunnelling and transport infrastructure, as well as complex electrical installations for some of Sydney’s most prestigious high-rise commercial towers. FIP Electricals’ growing portfolio also expanded to include iconic Australian landmarks and nationally significant infrastructure projects, further demonstrating the company’s capability to deliver complex projects in live operational environments while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality and performance.

2025
Celebrating 45 years of continuous operation, FIP Electrical stands as one of Australia’s most experienced and respected electrical contracting organisations. Operating throughout New South Wales, Queensland, Victoria and Tasmania, the company continues to successfully deliver projects across the commercial, industrial, health, education, aviation, defence, transport, data centre and infrastructure sectors. including communications, security systems, automation and long-term maintenance services.
