Nambour General Hospital underwent an $86 million redevelopment to expand capacity and modernise key clinical areas for the growing Sunshine Coast community. The project delivered increased emergency care capacity, upgraded mental health, surgical and medical wards, and new or improved facilities including a same-day rehabilitation unit, a purpose-built renal dialysis space, and refurbished areas for infusions and chemotherapy, along with improved patient access and updated support spaces.
Significant electrical infrastructure upgrades were also completed, including Main Switchboard replacements, improved generator and synchronisation systems, and extensive supply and support-system upgrades. These works were carefully planned to avoid any disruption to hospital operations.
Throughout the redevelopment, patient and staff safety remained the priority. The hospital stayed fully operational during construction, ensuring uninterrupted care for the community.
