Overseas Passenger Terminal (OPT) (NSW)
FIP Electrical Pty Ltd was engaged as a D & C contractor to bring this iconic building and facility to the 20th-century requirements and standards. To further complicate the construction, we had to maintain the operation of the overseas cruise passenger facility and docking equipment in addition to a range of other commercial uses including restaurants and bars. The site is located in the West Circular Quay Precinct within a broader area owned and controlled by the Sydney Ports Corporation. It is a critical link in the City of Sydney and SHFA’s ‘Cultural Ribbon’ pedestrian walk, linking all major cultural and arts institutions along the Harbour Foreshore. The site is comprised of the existing OPT Building and access roads, bounded by heritage buildings to the west, and harbour to the east.
